FAQ Page
1.) Q. Why are your prices higher than some other contractors? Doesn't every company follow the same standards?
Answer: Simply put no, not all contractors follow the same "standards" set forth by our industry. Over the years procedures and installation practices change very rapidly. We choose to keep up with these changes and apply them in order to assure you that you have the best installation and service that we can provide. We take a great deal of pride in what we do. We have to retrain every technician that we acquire from another company since they where instructed to install and service equipment just the same way that has been done for generations. Can you imagine if your doctor employed those practices? It is no different in our profession.
We must keep up with the ever-changing conditions put forth before us to be able to honestly tell you we provide quality. Our prices reflect considerably more labor as well as material involved in order to complete the project with quality in mind and not take "shortcuts". We are aware of the "shortcuts" as well but we choose not to employ them in order to save time as they sacrifice the integrity of your equipment as well as tarnish our reputation.
2.) Q. Why doesn't your company advertise as much as some of these other companies?
Answer: Many companies have huge advertising campaigns because they sacrifice their integrity in order to lower the initial price to you the consumer. The main drawback to this approach is you don't have long-term customers once they realize that a quality job was not performed at their residence. Therefore they must advertise to get the next customer and overcome any poor "word of mouth" advertising they just received. We put a small advertisement in the Yellow Pages so you can find our number and other than that we employ no other major forms of advertising other than the "word of mouth" advertising we receive from our existing customer base. Employing the strategy of quality has allowed our business to be successful and grow every year, while pleasing each and every customer.
3.) Q. What is the 13 S.E.E.R. law and how does it affect me?
Answer: First of all S.E.E.R. stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. To make a long story short it is a simple way to evaluate how energy efficient a unit is. The minimum previously to January 23, 2006, was 10 S.E.E.R. (10 S.E.E.R. units were designed to work with just about any indoor unit; 13 S.E.E.R units are not designed this way with the added efficiency they provide); however, after that date the minimum is 13 S.E.E.R. which affects our industry on many different levels.
As the S.E.E.R. rating increases, efficiency increases along with outdoor and indoor coil sizes. The new 13 S.E.E.R. units will have a higher refrigerant charge. It’s more important than ever to follow manufacturers' guidelines on changing the indoor coil. If you don't change to match the indoor coil, at a minimum you will lose capacity and efficiency, so you won't get what you are paying for. In a more common scenario, a new 13 S.E.E.R. outdoor unit will be hooked up to an old, dirty indoor coil, not rated for use with a 13 S.E.E.R. unit, resulting in refrigerant floodback damaging the compressor. Unless you have a current indoor unit rated to be used with a 13 S.E.E.R. outdoor unit your only choice in order to replace your outdoor unit is to replace your entire system with matched equipment.
